San Salvador de Jujuy Province of Jujuy

Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 59: A white, apparently spherical object was photographed west of San Salvador de Jujuy. CIAE checked historical flight-tracking records and found Google's HBAL 795 helium balloon at approximately 62,900 feet. Its location, apparent elevation, slow wind-driven movement, colour and shape agreed with the report. The agency concluded that the object was this high-altitude balloon and classified the case Type A. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
