Official source account — 2019 annual report, printed page 37: Tamara López noticed an apparent object after reviewing a Buenos Aires photograph dated 28 July 2019. CIAE compared the mark with the Sun and checked their equal distances from the camera's optical center. It concluded that the blue-looking anomaly in the upper-right portion of the image was compatible with internal lens flare. The agency assigned a Type A explanation based on that optical geometry. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
