Cristian Casertano photograph

Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 25: Cristian Casertano discovered a small bright mark in a landscape photograph taken in Misiones on 10 April 2016. CEFAE compared it with a later photograph and analyzed the colored edges of the mark. It concluded that a moving water droplet on the outer lens surface, illuminated by the flash, fit the image. The prism-like color separation was central to the agency's explanation. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes.
