Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 16: Julio Ríos discovered a dark object in a photograph taken at San Martín de los Andes on 7 February 2016 after transferring the image to a computer. CEFAE identified features compatible with an insect passing close to the camera and turning away. The body could resemble a bee or wasp, while the wings were difficult to see because of their transparency and rapid motion. The report did not identify an exact species.
