Gabriel Simchuk photograph

Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 6: Gabriel Simchuk noticed a small oval shape above the hills of Capilla del Monte after viewing his 23 February 2014 photograph on a computer. CEFAE analyzed its blue and red edges and their orientation within the image. The agency concluded that it was compatible with a liquid droplet on the lens acting as a small prism. Its proposed explanation used the radial pattern of color separation rather than interpreting the shape as a distant craft. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
