Official source account — 2021 annual report, printed page 78: Cristian Perrone noticed a dark spot within the photographed solar disc. CIAE attributed it to the black-Sun effect, in which excessive light saturates CMOS sensor elements and produces an anomalously dark response. The agency classified the case Type A. Its conclusion concerned a camera-sensor artefact inside the Sun's image, rather than a separately observed object passing in front of the Sun.
