Capilla del Monte photograph

Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 29: A photograph taken at Capilla del Monte on 11 October 2008 contained a dark elongated shape resembling a flying wing, with two bright points. Nobody in the scene had noticed an object outside. CEFAE proposed two dirt particles on the lens, previously smeared along overlapping paths and then illuminated by the flash. Its explanation treated the apparently complex craft-like shape as a combination of two camera-associated marks. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
