Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 27: Nelson Heredia photographed bright objects shortly after midnight on New Year's Day. CIAE reconstructed the sky with Stellarium and matched the suspect point to Sirius, at the reported elevation of about 70 degrees. Its position relative to Murzim, Adhara and Wezen reproduced the same quadrilateral seen in the photographs. The agency considered that positional agreement sufficient for a Type A stellar identification. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations.
