Case description
The Três Rios archive item is a newspaper clipping headed Disco Voador. The preserved catalogue dates it to 25 June 1969, but that is the publication date, not a precisely established time for the underlying observation. The article says photographer Jorge Castelani had documented an unidentified object at Três Rios, Rio de Janeiro state, and that the newspaper had published the material in its preceding Saturday edition. Foreign news-agency representatives reportedly visited the newsroom seeking details.
Much of the clipping concerns another newsroom visitor, composer Carlos Sideral, also called Carlinhos Sideral. He expressed confidence that advanced civilizations were sending observational craft and advocated public disclosure. He speculated that resolving the phenomenon would transform energy and fuel technology and referred to Project Blue Book and supposed secrecy. These statements represent his opinions about UFOs; they do not supply a witnessed sequence, an occupant description or an official conclusion about Castelani's photographs.
The closing section invites witnesses to contact the Sociedade Brasileira de Estudos Sobre Discos-Voadores and its president Walter Karl Bühler. The recovered page does not provide the original observation's duration, direction, shape, color or reliable distance, and it does not reproduce an identifiable alien encounter. The plate consequently reconstructs a period newsroom discussion and photographic reporting context. It avoids manufacturing a photographed disc or beings from an article largely concerned with public reaction.
