Brazilian archive report — Curitiba, PR — 1991-04-23

Airton José Garbujo, a thirty-year-old aeronaut, described a light seen during a night flight departing Curitiba on 23 April 1991. The questionnaire locates the observation southwest of Sorocaba and refers to flight level 250, with the light between the aircraft's eight- and ten-o'clock positions. Six people were aboard. The object appeared round and showed red, blue, white and yellow colours; its distance was estimated at thirty to sixty nautical miles. The twenty-five-minute observation reportedly involved circular movement and climbing, with the light seeming to accompany the aircraft. No sound was recorded. The form describes a white downward trail when the sightline entered instrument-flight conditions, although the weather field otherwise describes visual conditions. Another field estimates height variations of 5,000–10,000 feet, without making their reference sufficiently clear to turn these into a precise flight-path diagram. A supplementary note alleges a flight-level change without any crew member manipulating the instruments. The preserved two-page questionnaire contains no recording, instrument log or analysis establishing the cause of that change, and its physical-evidence field is negative. It describes an aerial light, not an observed occupant: the imported CE3 label should not create beings absent from the testimony. The illustration shows the principal aeronaut, a contextual crew composition and the distant multicoloured light, with the aircraft layout and portraits explicitly illustrative.
