Case description
Jesús Paz and two companions reported an encounter near San Carlos, Venezuela, on December 16, 1954, after returning from dinner. Paz left their car and walked behind vegetation near the Ministry of Agriculture’s exhibition grounds. His companions said they heard a cry and found him unconscious as a small, hairy figure moved towards a shiny object hovering low above the ground.
The APRO account identifies one companion as national guardsman Luis Mejia. He reportedly tried unsuccessfully to obtain a firearm, then threw a stone towards the fleeing figure. The object departed with a loud sound. Paz was subsequently said to have received treatment for shock and scratches along his side and back; the accessible publications are not original clinical records.
APRO’s January 1955 bulletin and the HUMCAT catalogue preserve the case, but the reported attack was not independently witnessed from beginning to end. No demonstrated transport aboard the object is described. The illustration centres on the companions’ view, with Paz on the ground, the two men, the retreating hairy figure and low-hovering craft. Likenesses, exact anatomy and craft structure are illustrative; the alleged injuries are not depicted graphically.
