The native entry combines reports from Chacao and Floresta in the Caracas region under December 8, 1954. Contemporary and later compilations describe several alleged landings in Chacao that day. One man, Tomás Betancourt, claimed that he tried to seize a small figure which slipped from his grasp. HUMCAT traces that claim to El Universal of December 9.
A separate Floresta account concerns a Caracas doctor travelling by car with his father at about 6:30 p.m. They reportedly stopped after seeing two small men run into bushes. Shortly afterwards, a luminous disc rose from behind the vegetation and departed rapidly with a sizzling sound. The available summary does not resolve the figures’ faces or establish a witnessed boarding. HUMCAT dates this episode to December 10, rather than the native combined entry’s December 8.
These are separate people and sequences, not one corroborated encounter. Hatch’s source points through Loren Gross’s historical compilation and carries a hoax-related flag, without explaining a demonstrated confession. The plate follows the Floresta doctor-and-father account, explicitly combining its successive moments and using month-only dating. Descriptions from the better-known November 28 Petare incident, including hairy bodies and a knife struggle, are not evidence about these figures.

These are separate people and events. Film frames Chacao aroundDecember9; Atlas usesDecember8 withElUniversalDecember9. Floresta follows at34:52 withDecember10, while current source audit infersDecember8 from theDecember10 press article. The ASR also rendersDecember5 at35:01, an internal transcription/narration inconsistency. Do not fuse the events or silently adjudicate dates.
