Case description
Motorist Jean Dolecki reported an encounter near Saint-Just-de-Claix on January 9, 1976, during a period of regional UFO publicity. Contemporary press also spells his name Dolski and places the sighting around 7:30 p.m.; investigation summaries use about 7:15. Skylook's translated contemporary account calls his vehicle a camionette, or small truck. A bright descending object reportedly prompted him to stop and take shelter behind it.
He described a metallic object in a field roughly seventy metres away, shaped like joined truncated cones or an Italian coffee pot. Height estimates vary from about ten to fifteen metres. White light illuminated its underside, with several coloured lights above. Skylook describes uncertain square heads, while other summaries call the forms conical or apparently headless. Three elongated, short-legged figures appeared near an opening. They had long telescopic pole-like arms, without resolved facial features. They reportedly moved around for several minutes, returned to the object, and it departed rapidly.
The press and subsequent investigation summaries differ over dimensions, age and some mechanical details. The original Hatch reference points to Figuet and Ruchon's compilation; a contemporary newspaper confirms the core claim of three automatonlike figures with very short legs. Later comparisons with experimental astronaut suits are interpretive proposals, not evidence that Dolecki saw a particular magazine beforehand. Separate Domène sightings, including a blond humanoid, should not be merged with this episode. The plate retains the distinctive reported geometry while treating precise mechanisms and anatomy as uncertain.
