Llanerchymedd, Wales being encounter — September 1, 1978

Several residents of Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, reported lights, an object near fields, and humanlike figures on September 1, 1978. The accounts span the evening rather than one precisely synchronized moment. Some witnesses saw a bright descending light; others described a white bullet- or cigar-shaped object near the Maes Athen estate. A fuller BUFORA-derived account names schoolboy David Mark Hesketh among those watching from near the fields. Mrs Parry and Mrs Owen were alerted during the observation. Hesketh described tall figures near horses, while Mrs Owen reported three figures in hooded one-piece suits from an upstairs window. In the confusion, the witnesses did not preserve a clear departure sequence for the figures. Animals reacting and the separate viewpoints are reported parts of the case, not a single continuous view that every witness shared. The SUFON case report and video provide a regional source trail. The plate depicts a distant field observation from a house, with object outline, clothing, and landscape reconstructed rather than copied from a contemporaneous photograph.
