Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, Wales spherical-object report — September 1, 1978

Residents of Llanerchymedd reported unusual lights and figures on the evening of September 1,1978. Farmer John Roberts, out hunting rabbits, described a brilliant white light descending near a new housing estate shortly after 8 p.m. Other observers described a silvery sphere. Later accounts also describe a white bullet- or cigar-shaped object with reddish illumination, so the reported form was not uniform. Pat Owen, looking from an upstairs window with her young daughter, reported three tall men crossing a field. They wore silver-grey one-piece outfits with attached head coverings. She saw their backs, not distinctive faces, and said nearby cattle fled. A boy, David Mark Hesketh, separately described tall figures while other children sought adults and police. The retrieved accounts do not establish that anyone watched the figures enter or leave the object. Contemporary BUFORA reporting and later summaries by Robert Gribble and Richard Hall form the source chain. Different witness positions and timings should not be compressed into unanimous agreement about one detailed craft. The plate identifies its combined scene as a composite and retains the back view of Owen’s figures. Suggestions of ordinary personnel remain hypotheses rather than demonstrated identifications.
