Case description
This record concerns the second principal evening of the Boianai Mission sightings, June 27, 1959. Gill's written statement says Annie Laurie first noticed the large light around 6 p.m.; he saw it two minutes later and called Ananias Rarata and others outside. It resembled the previous evening's object, though apparently smaller or farther away. Two lesser lights were also visible. Four humanlike figures appeared on the upper surface of the main object, some bending or moving their arms as though working.
Gill raised an arm, and one figure appeared to imitate him. When Ananias waved both arms, two figures responded; continued waving seemed to bring a response from all four. Eric Kodawara fetched a flashlight. Gill's long flashes were followed by an apparent wavering movement of the object. The figures later went below the visible deck; two reappeared around 6:25 p.m., followed by brief blue-light emissions.
Gill went to dinner at 6:30. The object was still present around 7, before the group attended church; clouds subsequently obscured the sky. These details come from a consciously reported observation, not hypnosis. Gill considered the occupants human and initially imagined an advanced terrestrial machine. The later astronomical explanations and their critics remain disputed. The illustration depicts the reported waving exchange without turning the distant human-shaped figures into detailed extraterrestrial anatomy.
