Case description
A man at Moussan, Aude, said he encountered six unusual people while sheltering from rain in a ruined house on December 12, 1987. GEIPAN’s official summary describes a police interview following a December 20 article in L’Indépendant. It classifies the file C because reliable information is insufficient, rather than treating the story as an established extraterrestrial encounter.
The witness described people approximately one to one-and-a-half metres tall, speaking imperfect French. One supposedly drew and explained two signs on the ground. They claimed another planetary origin, using the name Earth, and left on wheelless vehicles resembling sledges. He compared the departure noise to ultrasound; that comparison is not an acoustic measurement. Returning with his daughter two hours later, he said he found circular marks where their feet had been.
Police found no such traces and obtained no additional testimony. GEIPAN highlights the English planet name, language and inconsistent description of resting athletes as reasons for doubt. The plate shows the witness, all six short humanlike figures and illustrative sled-like vehicles together. It does not present the daughter as an encounter witness. Their appearance, clothing, vehicle construction and drawn signs are not authenticated by the surviving summary.
