Case description
Two young brothers were associated with a backyard report at Burbank on October 16, 1973. Ann Druffel’s original article places the family’s alarm around 11:30 a.m., rather than the evening of later digests. Their father, a night-shift police officer, was asleep until his wife woke him. The younger boy was two and not yet speaking; four-year-old “Eddie” was the only child able to describe the claimed encounter.
Eddie drew an oval object with a pointed dome, downward rays and haze. Asked whether anything was inside, he drew what his father interpreted as four featureless faces with pointed heads or caps. He said the figures came out and let him look inside; seeing a chair, he became frightened and ran to his mother. The father saw the agitated family dog afterward, not the reported occupants.
Druffel interviewed the father and inspected the yard, finding no landing marks or compass deviation. The account depends heavily on a preschooler’s language and adult questioning. No completed abduction is established, and another Burbank entry may duplicate it. The plate shows the two boys, large white dog, approximate craft and four ambiguous pointed-head forms, without detailed alien anatomy.
