Case description
A preliminary notice by Leonard H. Stringfield in MUFON UFO Journal 110 describes a businessman who reported a bizarre experience while driving through Clarksville, Tennessee, on 27 January 1977. The man wished to remain anonymous. According to Stringfield, he said he encountered entities that appeared only partly visible and perceived communication that he interpreted as telepathic.
The notice adds that the businessman subsequently flew to Washington, D.C., intending to tell the authorities what had happened. It does not identify those authorities, reproduce an official response or establish a government investigation. Stringfield explicitly said the witness was reluctant to give full details by telephone and that more information was still hoped for. No developed vehicle description, exact entity count, physical examination or completed transport is supplied.
The article also discusses a different experience at Prospect, Kentucky, on the same date. Its red rectangular object, three robot-like entities and hypnotically recalled abduction belong to that other witness and must not be imported into Clarksville. The matching NICAP and Hatch listings probably refer to this one preliminary report. The plate accordingly leaves the entities unresolved and includes no invented craft or abduction scene.
