Case description
Pam Owens, nineteen and five months pregnant, was driving home near Trier and Kordel, West Germany, with her husband Chris and their nearly two-year-old son Brian on November 25, 1978. At about 10 p.m., they saw an enormous oval metallic object rotating overhead, with a flashing red light beneath it. Pam estimated its length at approximately three hundred metres and accelerated to get away.
When they reached home, the time was 12:10 a.m. The journey normally took half an hour, leaving roughly an hour and a half unaccounted for. Pam also noticed an unusual mark near her navel. She eventually contacted investigators and underwent hypnotic regression.
In those later recollections, the car had stopped and the family had got out. Pam next remembered lying immobilised on a table in a small, softly lit room with rounded walls and ceiling. Two tall occupants had bald, enlarged heads, deep-set eyes, greenish textured skin and long, four-fingered hands. When she worried about her son and husband, the figures reassured her that they were being cared for.
She recalled the beings examining her pregnancy and inserting a long needle near her navel, followed by dizziness, pain and a gap in recollection. Her next remembered scene was standing beside the car holding Brian while the object departed. Investigators associated with the case included Brad Steiger and Richard Seefried. Pam said her daughter Kelly was born normally four months later. Her initial sighting, missing time and mark preceded the much fuller sequence recalled under hypnosis.
