Case description
Claude and Françoise Lansselin, aged ten and nine, were returning from catechism near Hennezis around 6:30 p.m. on October 7,1954. Beside a recently worked field, Claude noticed what he called a red egg rising above a hollow near woodland.
Leaving her beside the path, he moved onto higher ground for a closer view. He described two normal-sized people in black moving down from the object toward its lower portion. The children became frightened and ran home. Their father accompanied them back, but nothing remained; neither child had watched a landing or takeoff.
Henri Buch's contemporary Ouranos interview clarifies an important shape issue: the egg referred to a red dome above a dark circular rim, partly concealed. Claude also explicitly described ordinary clothing rather than diving suits. Helmets in the imported abstract are therefore not supported by that fuller interview. The source could not distinguish reflected red light from the object's own illumination.
Later skeptical authors said the family had moved abroad and could not be found, then dismissed the report. That failure to locate witnesses does not itself explain the observation. Conversely, the children's sincerity and repeated catalogue inclusion do not establish an extraterrestrial machine.
